Adidas And Y-3 Celebrate 20 Years Of Collaborating With A New Collection
A 20th anniversary is worth celebrating, and for adidas and Yohji Yamamoto ringing in two decades of Y-3 meant the launch of a new spring collection. Entitled Chapter 1, “Transformative Nostalgia” inspired the line of streetwear modeled by dancers who bring the drape separates with bold interpretations of the classic three stripe logo to life with movement. To be expected, sneakers are a huge focal point of this collection. The drop includes the debut of a new Y-3 MAKURA style featuring a low-top trainer with an exaggerated rubber outsole and a track & field spiked inspired sole, as well as updates on classic Y-3 silhouettes.
Yohji Yamamoto is one of the longest-standing collaborators with the adidas brand. The success of Y-3 has attracted other fashion brands like Jeremy Scott and Prada to adidas in hopes of recreating accessible luxury.
Gabriel Moses photographed the campaign, and Chapter 1 is available on adidas.com on February 3rd.
