Bryson Tiller Swaps His Dad Hat For A Fitted Cap

Since the rise of his debut single “Don’t,” Bryson Tiller has an affinity for the humble dad hat. Deviating from other casual sports headwear like snapbacks, flat brims, or fitted caps, dad hats are designed with a slightly curved brim. Formally known as baseball hats, the style acquired its name thanks to the wearer of the particular style when it birthed in the 90s, daddies.

Tiller, who’s breakout single pushed the Louisville, Kentucky native into the public eye in 2015 arguably helped repopularize the hat style that followed in 2016. When the singer was spotted out or snapped of a photo —which was a rare occurrence for the private artist both then and now— he not only almost always had a hat on, he often used the curved brim to hide his face with a slight tilt of his head. However, we all like to switch our style up, and in a maternity shoot with his lady, model Kendra Bailey that’s exactly what the singer did with his headgear.

In the photoshoot set on the beach the Trapsoul artist isn’t hiding behind the brim. Bryson Tiller swapped his signature curved brim dad hats for a Boston Red Socks fitted cap. Flat brim with a simple black and white design to match every outfit this hat wasn’t just a one time wear to celebriate the new edition to his growing family, he’s worn the monochrome hat since we’ve welcomed the fall season. Tiller’s 5 million instagram followers got a glimpse of the his new hat at the Minnesota State Fair 11 weeks ago and from the looks of his instagram feed, he’s hasn’t reverted back to his dad hats since that post, posing on a bike, enjoying the ocean with his daughter, and snapped mirror pics in bedrooms while wearing the Boston —or B for Bryson— hat.
